An 18’ Orkney Yole built at the Boat Building Academy Lyme Regis in 2017. Clinker planked; this build embraced new timber technology using Vendia marine planking from Finland. The yole is bright finished above the waterline using crown cut Vendia planks for a traditional appearance. Planks are glued using West System epoxy. The centreline is oak and Gaboon marine ply is used below the waterline, the flooring is Robbins marine ply. The rig is a single stayed mast and gunter rig. The boat is finished using Hempel and International paints, Epifanes varnish and Deks Ojle D1 Oil. Fixings and fittings supplied by Davey & Co and Bronzework Marine.
The boat has been unused and in storage since 2018. Some finishing work is required to finalise standing rigging, ballasting, bilge pump and drain plug.
Items included:
Hull, flooring, rudder & tiller, masts & spars, sails, running rigging, boat cover (mast down)
